It is a Global Reset

Laverne says the word to write about for 15 minutes is “Reset”, and I look down at my desk and there is the word, Reset, on the bottom of my Rising Strong book.

Reset.  On the phone yesterday with Jen who lives in Sacramento.  She works at the Apple Store and is now on the phone line with apple support.   I always ask where the person is on a product support call.   This is the same problem I had before I tell her.   She tries to connect directly to my computer, is unable, so she connects to my phone, and I turn my camera on, facing it to my computer screen so she can see it.   With an arrow Icon she is telling me, what to press, what to close out of, what to open up.   Then to no avail she just says , Shut off your computer and Reset.

Reset, it is a new word in this technological age, but it is something that we have been doing since the beginning of time.  It is evolution.    It is adaptation to environment and circumstances.

We are going through a reset right now.   A covid-19 reset.   It was about time.  We needed this revolution, we needed this Evolution.

Revolution-Evolution.   Slowing up.  Not so busy.  Pulling more weeds, doing less scurrying around.   Writing practice on the phone, versus driving across town.  Business meetings over Zoom.  Less air travel.   Thinking globally and less locally.   A big hit-you-in-the face, global pandemic.  “ I thought I would not live through the night”, the gentleman named Ron said, as he was in the hospital for two weeks, “it has affected my organs also, and the recovery is slow.”

There are no layers of epidermis, of airways, of bronchial tubes that can stop its intrusion into our bodies.

There are not borders or walls, or oceans that can stop it from crossing.

We all breathe the same air.    That blue globe from the spacecraft is where we all are.  You are here, pointing to earth.   No matter what language, color of skin, economic status, gender or sexual orientation, there is no bias for Covid-19.

This can take me down.   I don’t want to be Ron and wonder if I will make it through the night.   I don’t want Cathy or Lucas, or anyone in my family, my life, my farm, my county, my city, my state, my country, my hemisphere, my EARTH to feel that either.

This is the reset to think globally.   To act together.  To help one another.  To realize that this very small virus, can take out more than a war, it can take out more people than the Hydrogen Bomb or any missiles.

Working together, those great scientific minds, bent over microscopes, working independently but together to formulate a vaccine.   To formulate an antibody test.  To formulate a cure and respite.

We can now collaborate, communicate.   We are all one.   Taking this reset into being responsible also for the environment.

Press the Reset Button, Jen said, from Sacramento.
